October 2024 Newsletter

Writing Resources, My Favorite Newsletters, One Year Anniversary of the Introverted Writer

Hello, everyone! How was the first month of fall for you?

This is what mine looked like:

Being anti-social at weddings,

Listening to epic audio-books (yes, plural) while baking two cakes and nearly two-hundred cupcakes,

Buying myself a new bookshelf and books to go on it to celebrate my sixteenth birthday,

Learning that I do not know how to dance (at all!),

And desperately trying to finish the second draft of my story which keeps dragging out longer and longer and looonnnger…

Writing: Writing Resources

I think this is the closest I’ve gotten to my newsletter deadline while still creating content. The collection of writing resources linked below was started and completed last night. So if there’s any typos or problems, that’s why. XD

Despite my rush when creating it, I really hope that it can be beneficial for you. I know the resources have been for me. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am as a writer without them.

Reading: My Favorite Newsletters of the Year

Though I loved writing every single newsletter, there were a few that were particularly fun!

November 2023 — Even though this was only the second newsletter I sent out, it’s still close to my heart. I had my first interview with a fellow writer, talked about NaNoWriMo, and shared a peek into my writing process.

July 2024 — The July Newsletter contained the most clicked link I’ve ever shared: the pictures from my trip to Europe. I loved getting to share about my trip as well as revealing the cover for Thawed — A Snow Queen Retelling.

September 2024 — Last months newsletter was super fun for me. I got to interview an author I’ve looked up to for a long time, share my favorite books of the summer, and contrast multiple POVs with a single POV in writing.

I hope you enjoyed reading these as much as I enjoyed writing them. I can’t wait to share even more great content this coming year!

Spotlight: The One Year Anniversary of The Introverted Writer

It doesn’t feel like that long ago that I brought the idea of starting a newsletter to my parents. I’m sure they thought it was just one of my bursts of motivation or big ideas. In my heart of hearts, I probably thought so too.

But here I am. Writing the post that marks the one year anniversary of The Introverted Writer! I have loved writing every post of the past year and it has been so fun to see you all enjoy them too!

My goal for this year was 50 subscribers, but, as of this month, I hit 105! It absolutely blows my mind that 105 people want to hear what I have to say. Thank you, everyone, really!

This year, I hope to share more writing tips that I’ve learned and more behind-the-scenes of my own writing process. I also have several more interviews and guest posts planned.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what the purpose of this newsletter really is. Yes, I want to use it to help build my platform for when I launch my first book. But I also want to use it to serve you. I want to help writers along in their journeys, expose readers to great books, and bring a smile to all my readers faces.

I would like your help to make that happen. I want your input to make The Introverted Writer the best place it can be. It would make my day if you would fill out the eleven question form linked below.
